Hye Young Kim

Hye Young Kim, Born in Seoul, Korea in 1980, since 2008 she is currently living and working in Berlin, Germany. In 2003 she earned her B.F.A in Fine Artat Korean National University of Arts in Seoul, Korea, in 2007, earned her M.A in Fine Art atKorean National University of Arts in Seoul, Korea. Hye Young Kim studied Painting in the class of Prof. Burkhard Held, as a guest student for two years in2010-2012 at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), Germany.

I am concerned with the impact on the present madeby an individual’s history, environment, and affairs of the past and the link between them. An unexpected visual marriage is made by the gap between figuration and abstraction, fact and fiction. I feel that humors and imaginary spaces engendered throught his process and created by imagination are important.
