Georges R. Quinio

After his studies at the prestigious Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, the painter Gerorge R. Quinio worked for many years travelling around Asia and Africa.

After a life-changing residency in Singapore he moved back to his native Corsica and started an intense production of paintings inspired by the wildest side of his own country.

Artist Statement

Rich in colour, yet simple and elegant, Quinio’s collection portrays a unique set of landscapes resembling a combination of impressionism and macchiaioli. Quinio was an extremely sensitive artist, who through his idyllic landscapes can still take the observer on a journey into the deepest and forgotten parts of the Self, through the act of perception.
